Local Law Enforcement
Around 50 automobiles have been covered with what appears to be blood from a person in the German city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Cars, walls and postal boxes were vandalized, occasionally with swastikas, they announced in a release.
Officers say they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish substance.
The liquid had been drawn in the shape of a swastika, they stated.
Law enforcement then found numerous other smeared automobiles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement say early analysis indicate the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no lead as to where it came from; authorities are currently not aware of any physical harm in association with the event," they stated.
Municipal representatives announced they were trying "to unravel the incident" and have asked to the public for details.
An important official said the attack left him stunned and had to be resolved quickly.
"This incident hits the center of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the extremist violent incident five years ago," he wrote on social media, recalling the killing of nine people by a shooter focusing on residents of foreign heritage in 2020.
