I'll overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair confronted each other to promote next month's boxing match.

Ex two-time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I plan to break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically famous for his showmanship - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, frequently receiving substantial paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters met for the usual face-off, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually happening.
